The Batti pendant lamps start from the idea of manipulating iron tubes – a material that is traditionally considered very rigid and cold. By revisiting very traditional Tuscan metalworking techniques the iron takes on a very organic and three-dimensional aspect. The final outcome is a series of suspended lamps that are composed of multiple iron forged tubes that reflect light in a very particular manner thanks to the faceted surface. The most interesting aspect of the BattiBatti lamps is that no two are alike since each lamp has been forged manually meaning that each pendant will have its own character.
By collaborating closely with Opinion Ciatti and taking advantage of their expertise in metalworking we have been able to envision a product that combines very traditional techniques that have been around for thousands of years and reinterpret them to seamlessly fit into a contemporary interior environment.
