Beneath a serene and majestic surface, Pinto draws its inspiration from the timeless concrete flooring of Venetian palaces, elegantly fusing fragments of marble and stone to craft a monolithic and contemporary collection of tables. Pinto stands as a remarkable assortment of mono-material coffee tables that were designed by the Milan based studio Skrivo for the Italian manufacturer Miniforms (miniforms.com), meticulously forged from a specialized fully recyclable and reusable concrete that is entirely devoid of any chemical or metallic impurities. This mineral compound epitomizes modernity, capable of withstanding all manner of weather conditions, rendering it an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor explorations.
While concrete is often synonymous with its substantial weight, Skrivo embarked on the challenging quest to minimize material usage, all while shaping a collection of coffee tables with sculptural allure. With an unwavering commitment to non-reinforced concrete, our journey led us to unlock the secrets of precise compound compositions and mold processes, bestowing upon these tables the gift of structural strength, thus allowing the material to embrace its distinctive aesthetics and durability.
The culmination of this creative endeavor unfolds in the form of two harmonious, primitive-shaped tables that push the very limits of concrete, with their strikingly slender 18mm thick profiles. Beyond their captivating form, these tables offer a dynamic interplay of perspectives, treating the viewer to a unique visual experience, thanks to their captivating asymmetrical designs.
